Guðrún Böðvarsdóttir
Guðrún Böðvarsdóttir (1902-1936) was an Icelandic composer, the daughter of Reverend Böðvar Bjarnason, a priest in Hrafnseyri near Arnarfjörður, and his first wife, Ragnhildur Teitsdóttir from Ísafjörður. When her parents divorced, Guðrún moved with her mother to Reykjavík. She had two brothers, Ágúst and Bjarni. All of them were great musicians, and Bjarni is the best known of them (Bjarni Bö). The two mothers were very close. Guðrún fell ill with tuberculosis and between the times she was at Vífilsstaðir she stayed at her mother's house and died there at the age of over thirty.
