
Heidi Sundblad-Halme (1903–1973) was a Finnish composer, conductor, and music educator. Born in Jakobstad, she studied at the Sibelius Academy (1928–1935) and pursued conducting studies with Clemens Krauss in Berlin and Dean Dixon in Lund.
In 1938, she founded the Helsinki Women’s Orchestra, which she led for several decades. She also taught at the Folkkonservatoriet and the Swedish Workers' Institute, in addition to running a private teaching studio. A pioneer in early childhood music education, she established the Musikbarnträdgården in 1951.
Her diverse body of work includes symphonic poems, orchestral suites, ballets, songs, chamber music, and pedagogical material. In 1963, she was awarded the Pro Finlandia medal for her contributions to Finnish music.
